Who works in the library?
Our librarian is Mrs. Payne. Our wonderful library assistant is Mrs. Davenport.
Who can check out books from the library?
All students can check out library books at Verdigris Upper Elementary!
Students in the 4th-6th grade may check out two books at a time.
Students may check out additional books with permission if they are doing a report, working on a project, etc.
How long may students keep a library book?
The normal check out period is two weeks. Students who need additional time with a book may renew it for an additional two weeks.
How are overdue books handled? And what if a book is lost or damaged?
There are no fines for overdue books but books that are permanently lost or damaged must be paid for.
When are students allowed to go to the library for check out?
Students may check out library books daily. Each class at Verdigris Upper Elementary also visits the library once per week. This visit is a library class focusing on information and research skills to help our students to become effective users of ideas and information.
