Welcome to our LAST week of distance learning! Some of you have already received your Flat Mrs. Hanchett Hug! I am SO excited to see where you go with me! The My Big List of Kindergarten Goals below will be your weekly source for assignments! It is a weekly schedule for our classroom, so check back each week as it is updated. It can be completed at your own pace weekly, but the intention is to complete one row of activities daily. As you complete each activity, color the matching star! I am excited to see your work and watch you master skills! Review your "I can Packets" and report cards and Send me pictures or videos of any new skills you master!
The schedule is set up as follows:
15 minutes of Literacy- Scholastic Read Aloud and Activities OR Read aloud with a family member! Discuss whether the story was fiction or nonfiction. Who were the main characters? What was the setting?
15 minutes of word work- Please practice the weekly sight words and word family words. See the below link for fun word work practice! OR build your sight words with playdough, sidewalk chalk, rainbow write them, Write the consonants in one color and the vowels in another, write your sight words in a sentence
15 minutes of math- There are 3 math square activities to complete per week
15 minutes of extended learning- Journaling, Boom Cards (see links below to login), and Play 2 learn activities. This is a free choice activity to complete each week. I will list the choices below.

Complete one activity a day. The links and pictures below have some fun Word Work activities to practice your sight words and word families. The words in the Word Work squares will change every 2 weeks as we add to our list of words we've learned. You can always use your sight word lists as well!
We also practice word families and sight words by singing songs from youtube.com. You can search for the sight word songs on youtube. Below is an example

Column 3: Math & Extended Learning BOOM
Complete one activity per day. This includes 3 days of math and 2 days completing BOOM cards. Boom cards can be completed on the computer, mobile device, or tablet. The students have worked on Boom all year and are familiar with it. I will send username information to each of you on Remind.

4. Outdoor Play- bike riding, hopscotch, gardening, water/mud play, basketball, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, scavenger hunts
5. Imaginative Play- dress up, block building, pretend grocery store, library, coffee shop, Playdough creations
6. Creative Play- Write a story, build a fort, make a postcard to send to someone, create a treasure map and have a family member follow it! Bake a cake and decorate it! Have a tea party and send invitations you created to your family members to join you.
8. Smartboard Reading & Math Games The kiddos love these during center time. You will need to download the files to your computer and play through Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have access to this, no worries. Just choose a different extended learning activity from above.
